Back to Akihabara, Tokyo - Japan

Saturday 04 Oct 2008 01:59

We returned to Akihabara today, this time fresh legged and jetlag free. We spent the whole day there and this seems to be a good way to approach sight seeing around Tokyo, on ward at a time, if you don't mind being on your feet for most of the day. It was another sunny and hot September day.

First we found a 'Lawson's', one of the many convenience shops you see all around Tokyo. We wanted to get tickets for The Offspring concert and D was armed with some instructions to navigate the Japanese language Loppi Ticket machine. He went through the menus with skill but no tickets (actually they should be receipts for tickets you get later) were printed. I summoned a shop worker who got his manager who knew a little English. He went through the process with us to tell us that the final screen said 'sold out'. We'd already guessed as much. I was a little disappointed but looking on the bright side we now have an extra day to sight see and ¥8,000 to spend.

We headed back to the main street
